The bestselling films at Iranian box office for May 23-31, 2018, have been unveiled with 'Texas' still shining at the top after 6 weeks of screening.
Top movies at the Iranian box office from Wednesday last week to this Thursday are as follows:
‘Texas' directed by Masoud Atyabi (Weekly gross: 11,906,140,000 Rials, Total gross: 815,15,830,000 Rials), ‘Don't Be Embarrassed' directed by Reza Maqsoudi (Weekly gross: 5,073,620,000 Rials, Total gross: 18,317,530,000 Rials), 'Istanbul Junction' directed by Mostafa Kiaee (Weekly gross: 4,210,650,000 Rials, Total gross: 19,002,090,000 Rials), and ‘Confiscation’ directed by Mehran Ahmadi (Weekly gross: 2,863,460,000 Rials, Total gross: 153,837,240,000 Rials).
‘Texas’ has an action comic theme and enjoys some foreign stars. “Never threaten an Iranian, even in Texas,” a tagline for the flick says.
‘Don't Be Embarrassed’ tells the story of a middle-aged couple who are expecting a baby. This brings them new challenges living in their small village.
'Istanbul Junction' narrates the story of the tragic collapse of high-rise landmark building Plasco in Tehran which occurred in January 2017, killing several people including brave firefighters.
‘Confiscation’ is a comedy that follows the story of a SAVAK (Iran's security service before the Islamic Revolution) agent escaping to the US after the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
