Iranian feature 'The Home' has won an award at the 17th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) in Romania.
Directed by Asghar Yousefinejad, the flick grabbed a special award of the jury at the Romania event.
“When her father dies, a grieving woman returns to the family home after a long absence. As her relatives assemble to pay their respects, questions arise about how to deal with the body in this surprising suspense,” a short synopsis for ‘The Home’ reads.
In recent months, the successful Iranian title has made it to the official selection list of several film events in Denmark, the US, Turkey and India.
The TIFF is the first international feature film festival in Romania, which is held annually in the historic capital of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca.
Founded in 2002 by the Romanian Film Promotion, the TIFF has grown rapidly to become the most important film-related event in Romania.
The 2018 edition of the event has been slated for May 25-June 3.
