Iranian 'Manicure' has grabbed an award at the Big Bang International Short Film Festival in Athens, Greece.
Directed by Arman Fayyaz, the 14-minute film won the best film award of the Greek film event.
‘Manicure’ tells the story of a man struggling to cope with the unexpected death of his wife who committed suicide in a village. He has to bury his wife, but the villagers refuse to bury the corpse in the holy tomb of the village.
The Big Bang International Short Film Festival is an annual event that aims to demonstrate thematic and fully completed cinematic suggestions through the cinematic style of the Short Film.
The goal of this year’s Big Bang was to focus on “Iranian Micro Cinema” through screenings of new short films by Iranian creators.
The festival was held on June 1-3, 2018.
