Rome to spotlight Iran female director

Iranian director Narges Abyar is set to come under the spotlight at MAXXI museum in Rome.

The Italian museum will host ‘Track 143’ and 'Breath' by Narges Abyar in a screening program scheduled for June 23-25, 2018.

Born in Tehran, Narges Abyar studied Persian Literature and received her B.A. in this field.

Abyar has won awards from many national and international film festivals, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

She has penned some 30 books for children, young adults and adults. She has also made several short and feature-length documentaries.

‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’ are among the female actor’s notable films with the former winning numerous awards in major film events and the latter selected as Iran 2018 Oscar entry.

The MAXXI museum is a national museum of contemporary art and architecture in the Flaminio neighborhood of Rome, Italy. The art venue displayed a treasured collection of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 2017.
