Bratislava to screen Iranian ‘Nobody’

The International Festival of Animated Films for Children in Bratislava (BAB), Slovakia, has scheduled to screen Iranian short animation ‘Nobody’.

The 9-minute Iranian title will go on screen at 14th edition of the Slovakian film event.

Directed by Elham Toroqi, ‘Nobody’ tells the story of a white cat living in city of black residents. The cat tries hard to get food but no one seems bothered to give any.

The flick has so far succeeded to attend a number of international animation festivals, including the 22nd ANIMAC International Film Festival in Spain, the 11th ANIMANIMA International Animation Festival in Serbia, and the first Bute Street Film Festival in the UK.

The 15th Palace International Short Film Festival in Bulgaria, the 2nd Indie Best Films Festival in the US, and the 5th Korca International Film Festival in Albania are among the recent global experiences of ‘Nobody’.

The 1st Shenandoah Seasonal Film Festival in the US and the 7th Tour International Film festival in Italy are also set to screen ‘Nobody’.

The BAB has earned a special place on the map of international festivals due to its focusing exclusively on animation intended for children.

In 1991, it achieved the status of international festival and has cooperated with international organization of UNICEF since its very beginning.

The Festival’s mission is to foster artistic confrontation in the field of animation intended for children, create conditions for the evaluation thereof and hence support the complex development of this unique kind of art.

The 14th edition of the Biennial of Animation Bratislava is slated for October 8-12, 2018.
