Popular ifilm star Ali-Reza Khamseh starring in ‘The Capital’ series has joined the cast of new Iranian flick ‘Charlie in Tehran’.
According to a Friday media report, the actor may well play the starring role of the flick at the helm of Mehdi Aghababaei who was quoted as saying the flick shooting stage will kick off soon.
The film is about a person named Salim (Charlie), who is an old actor donning Charlie Chaplin’s costume as ''the Tramp’’ in public due to a chain of events.
The Tramp was British actor Charlie Chaplin's most memorable on-screen character and an icon in world cinema during the era of silent film.
Five seasons of the series ‘The Capital’, directed by Sirous Moqaddam, already came out in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018 with Khamseh starring in all installments.
The first season started with the story of a family's migration from the small town of Aliabad to the capital, Tehran, and depicted the troubles they encounter.
Mohsen Tanabandeh, Rima Raminfar and Ahmad Mehranfar are among other stars in previous installments of the series.
