Iranian actor, director and screenwriter Afshin Hashemi has won Best Screenplay award at the 6th edition of the Love International Film Festival (LIFF) in the US.
Held in Beverly Hills, California, the festival presented the award to Hashemi for his feature film ‘Temporary License’.
'In the Wake of Ire' by Brian Maurer from the US, 'Rainbow fields' by Bidyut Kotoky from India, 'Fighters' by Allen Yi from Japan, and 'Just A Fling' by Gorune Aprikian from France were the other contenders for best screenplay award.
Hashemi had also got another nomination for Best Director award and Asghar Raffie-Jam was nominated for Best Cinematography award.
Esmaeil Mehrabi and Masoud Keramati, actors of the film, were respectively nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards.
‘Temporary License’ narrates the story of two men in Tehran who decide to go on a night journey in the heart of the city.
The cast list also includes names such as Shaqayeq Farahani, Shabnam Farshadjou, Shaqayeq Dehqan, Pantea Bahram, Houman Barqnavard and Ladan Mostofi.

The LIFF has also nominated the Iranian film ‘Immortality’ for seven awards in five different categories, including the best film and the best director.
The mission of the Love International Film Festival is to bring focus on films and filmmakers from the international community whose works bring the world together and promote love and healing through cinema.
This edition of the LIFF was slated for July 24-27, 2018, in Los Angeles, the US.
