Iran short film ‘Alan’ has been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 8th edition of Kurdish Film Festival in Berlin.
The flick is to represent Iran at the German film event.
‘Alan’ is a short film about a Kurdish man in Syria who has lost his home and family during ISIS attacks.
Directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, the short film has so far attended a number of international film festivals, including the 11th Jahorina International Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the 14th Salento International Film Festival in Italy.
The film won the Best Director and Best Screenplay awards at the festival, competing with films from Denmark, Russia, US, Germany, Canada, Italy and New Zealand.
The festival in its uniqueness attracts more and more visitors every time. Not just Kurdish spectators, but also a lot of other Berlin-based audience. The program reflects the diversity of the Kurdish society, taking into account important cultural, political and artistic aspects.
The festival is world's most important meeting place for Kurdish filmmakers.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for August 23-29.
