Italy's Religion to screen ‘Forouzan’

Iranian short ‘Forouzan’ has been set to go on screen at the 21st edition of the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

Directed by Mirabbas Khosravinejad, the Iranian film tells the story of a young woman whose husband has recently passed away.

She lives with her two young children in a village, and protects a herd of sheep against the attack of thieves at night.

‘Forouzan’ has so far gone on screen at a number of international film events, including the March 2018 edition of the Pickurflick Indie Film Festival in India, the 2018 High Peak Independent Film Festival in the UK, the 2018 Queen City Cinephiles in the US, the 3rd Inca Imperial International Film Festival in Peru, the 21st FRESCO International Film Festival in Armenia, and the 5th Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival in the US.

The film that has received Best Short Film Award from the 1st Astoria Film Festival and an honorable mention from Independent Shorts Awards in the US, is also set to go on screen at the 1st Melbourne City Independent Film Awards in Australia.

Since 1997 the Religion Today has been the foremost international film festival dedicated to Cinema and Religions for a culture of peace and dialogue between faiths, cultures, peoples and individuals.

The 21st edition of the Religion Today is slated for October 4-11, 2018, in Trento, Italy.
