Iran short ‘Saad’s Olive Tree’ is to be screened at the DYTIATKO International Children’s Television Festival in Ukraine.
Directed by Ahmad Zayeri, the film will represent Iran at the Ukrainian festival.
According to a festival catalog description of the short flick, Saad is a boy who loves football with big dreams, but war changes his life in a flash.
The 2017 flick has so far won the second prize for Best Director and the jury’s special mention for Best Film in the Manchester International Short Film Festival in the UK.
Zayeri’s work has also garnered the Audience Choice Award, the Best Dubbing and Best Kid Actor from Irvington Film Festival in the US as well as the Best Screenplay award from Asia Peace Film Festival in Pakistan.
DYTIATKO Int'l Children’s Television Festival aims, among others, to discover and support children’s television teams and gifted children and develop creative personality.
The 2018 edition of the festival is slated for September 5-8, 2018 in Kharkiv city, Ukraine.
