Iran short film 'Manicure' Arman Fayyaz is set to vie at 2018 Encounters Film Festival in the UK.
The film will be screened along with 5 other films in Short Film2: Written on the Body section of the event.
Manicure’ tells the story of a man struggling to cope with the unexpected death of his wife who committed suicide in a village. He has to bury his wife, but the villagers refuse to bury the corpse in the holy tomb of the village.
The film has been screened in some international film events including the 2018 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films in the US.
Launched in 1995, Encounters Film Festival is the UK's leading short film, animation and virtual reality festival.
The festival discovers, supports and develops new talent in filmmaking by being a platform to showcase films from around the world, according to a page on the event’s website.
The winners will receive 2000 Euros. Besides, they will be introduced to compete for an academy award in the US.
24th edition of the cinematic event is slated for September 25-30, 2018.
