The 31st edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) in Isfahan has paid tribute to veteran Iranian filmmaker Ferial Behzad.
The Isfahan event honored the filmmaker, presenting her lifetime achievement award during a ceremony.
Behzad has directed some acclaimed films such as 'Kakoli', 'The Valley of Butterflies' and 'The Invisible Man'.
Receiving her award, the honoree said "My main reason for the interest in children’s cinema is that I am the mother of two."
"I have always liked to make something to entertain them. I made 'Kakoli' when I had one child and the story is set in the old days of Isfahan," she added.
"I do like fantasy films. One thing children can do is to make films about their dreams. Everything in real life is actually rooted in these dreams of mankind," Behzad concluded.
Officially started on August 30, the 2018 edition of the ICFF is slated to wrap up on September 5.
