Iran animation 'The Last Fiction' is to vie at 2018 Bucheon International Animation Festival in South Korea.
Driected by Ashkan Rahgozar, the feature-length animation will be competing with eight other flicks at the International Competition Feature Film section of the festival.
The animated film is the story of an evil figure in Iranian mythology, Zahhak. It is a free adaptation of a story from Iran’s classic literature.
The 120-minute animated movie deals with the narrative of Zahhak and covers the events from the end of Jamshid’s reign up to the beginning of Afaridoun’s reign; two influential rulers in Shahnameh (Book of Kings) by Iranian classic poet Ferdowsi.
'The Last Fiction' has already had several international screenings, including at the Annecy International animation Film Festival in France.
2018 edition of Bucheon International Animation Festival is slated for October 19-23 in the Korean city of Bucheon.
