Isfahan fest flies golden butterflies

Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Youth announces winners in various sections of the event.

The closing held September 5 in historic Iranian city of Isfahan saw Golden Butterfly awards given to winners with 'Stammer' by Mohammad-Reza Haji-Gholami sweeping awards.

The feature won the Golden Butterfly for Best Director, Best Young Adult Actor (Sajad Esmaili) and Audience Choice as well as the Special Jury Prize shared with ‘The Last Fiction’ by Ashkan Rahgozar.

‘Pastarioni’ produced by Bita Mansouri, ‘Knockout’ produced by Gholamreza Ramezan were other winners in the event with the former directed by  Soheil Movafagh grabbing the award for best children’s film.

In the international competition, 'Just Go' by Pavels Gumennikovs was chosen to be the best short film in the live-action section.

The Golden Butterfly for Best Animated Short was also granted to ‘Porter’, directed by Darioush Oskoei.

The 31st International Film Festival for Children and Youth was slated for August 30-September 5 in Isfahan.
