Iran actor Hassan Majouni wins award in Spain

Iran actor Hassan Majouni has won award from Sitges International Film Festival in Spain.

Majouni has been named the recipient of the Best Actor award for his role in 'Pig' by Mani Haghighi.

Born in 1968, Hassan Majouni is an Iranian actor and theater director. His artistic life started in the year 1997 with acting in a play directed by Ali Rafiei.

‘Pig’ depicts the story of Hassan, a filmmaker who has not been able to make any films lately, meanwhile his admired starlet can’t wait any longer and wants to leave and work with another director.

To worsen his situation, his wife no longer loves him. His daughter has grown up and feels independent. His old mother is suffering from Alzheimer. And yet, a woman tracks him everywhere he goes and wants him to give her a role in his films.

Yet worse, an assassin is killing directors of Iranian cinema in the city, but he has paid no attention to Hassan. Now he is hopeless; isn’t he the most important filmmaker of the city? Why then doesn’t the assassin care about him?

Some of the cast members of the star-studded film are Leila Hatami, Leili Rashidi, Parinaz Izadyar, Siamak Ansari and Ali Mosaffa.

Founded in 1968, SITGES- International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is a fantasy film festival.

The 51st edition of the film event was held October 4-14, 2018.
