‘The Corridor’, recently aired on ifilm, is a movie much reviewed by Iranian critics; we thought you deserve a share, in the following few installments.
Critic 1: Ali Farsi
The well-developed character of the kid, besides the well-done acting he demonstrates, is among the films strengths. It seems the screenplay was developed after extensive review of research around the behavior children show in a variety of situations; i.e. the details of the child’s behavior are very well-designed and quite acceptable; hence, believable.
The edit work, which has an important psychological effect on the smoothness of the narrative, proper titles and the good beginning are all among the film’s strengths. The choice of Reza Attaran, who is a comedian, in a serious role, does not turn out to have had an opposite effect; possibly, picking such an actor for the role, given his positive face, should have been among the reasons for his choice.
However, the choice of the film’s title, Corridor, seems improper. Although halfway through, the father talks of his fear from the house’s corridor, and we notice his mindset, but better names could have been picked for the movie, as it is more about the son, than the father.
