Iran short 'AniMal' has been picked to vie at the 2018 Kinofilm Manchester International Short film Festival in the UK.
Co-directed by Bahman and Bahram Ark, the film is among the 300 shorts that have been selected from the 1000 works submitted to the festival.
The 15-minute flick is about a man who wants to pass the border unlawfully; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.
The film has already won several awards including the second prize in the Cinéfondation category at the 70th Cannes Film Festival, the best short film award at the 21st Avanca Film Festival in Portugal, best fiction prize at the Globe Silent Film Festival in the US, and best short film award at the 2018 MOOOV Film Festival in Belgium.
Kinofilm Manchester International Short film Festival showcases the best short films and debut features from around the world. It gives new and emerging filmmakers the chance to have their work screened along with already famous and established short filmmakers.
The latest edition of the festival is slated for November 26 to December 2, 2018.
