Critically acclaimed ‘Axing’ by Behrouz Shoeibi is set to be shown in two international film festivals in London and Australia.
The 9th London Iranian Film Festival and the 8th Iranian Film Festival Australia are the two film events to screen ‘Axing’.
'Axing', formerly known as ‘The Woodpecker’, will have its first international screening at the events.
The social drama features a different narrative on how people confront addiction and drug abuse.
"Everyone has something to hold on to," a tagline for the film sums up.
'Axing' is Shoeibi’s third directorial offering after successful movies ‘The Corridor’ and ‘Cyanide’.
The flick has notable Iranian stars such as Mahnaz Afshar, Jamshid Hashempour, Sara Bahrami, Hadi Hejazifar, Negar Abedi, and Amin Hayaee in the cast.
The flick had 10 nominations in the 36th edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran and scored 2 Crystal Simorgh awards at the event.
The Iranian Film Festival Australia is currently underway in six major Australian cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra and will last until November 18, 2018.
The 9th London Iranian Film Festival is an annual, independent film festival dedicated to Iranian independent cinema and is to be run till November 3, 2018.
