Iranian short 'The Role' has been screening at the 2018 edition of the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania.
'The Role', directed by internationally-celebrated director Farnoush Samadi, is in competition with 17 other short films at the Fiction/Live Action section of the festival.
The mentioned section of the Albanian festival is among the Oscar qualifying film events.
The film is set to have its national premiere at the 35th Tehran International Film Festival which will be launched on November 9.
ifilm series 'Leila's Loneliness' star Mina Sadati and her actor husband Babak Hamidiyan are among the cast members of the short flick.
Samadi is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as from this year.
The TIFF aims to create a cultural center of worldwide alternative and independent cinema in Albania as well as in the region. It is the first international film festival and the only one of its kind in Albania.
Launched in 2003, this extraordinary cultural event is the most important cinematic event in Balkans.
The 16th edition of the TIFF has been underway since November 2 and will end on November 9, 2018.
