Iran director grabs honorary title in China

Beijing Film Academy has bestowed honorary title upon renowned Iranian director Majid Majidi.

‘Honorary Professor’ title of Beijing Film Academy has been granted to Majidi and he became the honorary professor of the greatest Asian academy of the arts.

The Vice Chairman of the Academy Zhang Jian granted the honorary title of this academy for Majidi’s outstanding activities in the area of film and cinema.  

With more than 700 filmmakers and students of the Chinese filmmaking courses in attendance, two films by Majidi entitled 'Children of the Heaven' and 'Song of Sparrows' were unveiled as educational materials for the Academy Film of China.

The ceremony was held on Tuesday evening at the Beijing Film Academy venue.

The Beijing Film Academy, founded in 1950, is Asia's largest film academy, under the auspices of the Chinese government.
