Albania award goes to Iran ‘In Between’

Iranian short ‘In Between’ has grabbed Ron Holloway award for best debut film at the 16th edition of the Tirana International Film Festival in Albania.

Directed by Aliyar Rasti, attended the short film competition section of the event.

Rasti’s drama narrates the story of a woman who must find a way to clear herself from being accused of a murder.

Saber Abar, Neda Jebraeili, Soheila Salehi and Sajjad Hamidian are among the cast members of the film.

The Golden Owl for best film at the Albanian event went to ‘Irina’ by Nadejda Koseva from Bulgaria.

Rene Eller from the Netherlands was selected as best director for ‘We’ and ‘The Greenaway Alphabet’ by Dutch filmmaker Saskia Boddeke won the award for best documentary.

The Tirana International Film Festival is among the official Academy Awards qualifying festivals.

The festival accepts films of all lengths submitted online from around the world.

The 16th edition of the film event was held on for November 2-9, 2018, in the Albanian capital of Tirana.
