German filmmaker Werner Herzog, whose latest documentary ‘Meeting Gorbachev’ is competing in the Special Screenings section of the 12th annual Iran International Documentary Film Festival (Cinema Verite), has sent a message to the festival and the people of Iran.
In a message to Eric Spitzer-Marlyn, one of the participants at this year’s festival, Herzog said: ‘Dear Eric, I’m deeply regretted and envious that you have found the opportunity to meet with a wonderful people with 5,000 years of transcendent culture and 5,000 years of poetry and literature. Please convey my message along with my most earnest wishes to them.’
Eric Spitzer-Marlyn is an Austrian composer known for his collaborations with director and screenwriter, Werner Herzog. Their notable works include ‘The White Diamond’ and ‘Wheel of Time’ among others.
Spitzer-Marlyn will be holding workshops on documentary soundtracks at the 12th annual Cinema Verite festival.
The 12th annual Cinema Verite Film Festival will be held from December 9-16, 2018. The festival's motto this year will be 'The truth is the best guide' by Imam Ali (AS).
