‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’ to test Fajr platform

First draft of Iranian feature ‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’ has been submitted to take part at the 37th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

This is while the cast and crew are still working to prepare the movie’s final edition for screening at the Fajr.

If accepted, the film festival will host the first official screening of the fifth feature film by Afshin Hashemi.

‘Goodbye Shirazi Girl’ is a rom-com movie which has been directed and rewritten by Hashemi.

The movie screenplay is inspired by Neil Simon who is known as America’s king of comedy playwrights.

“Someone from Shiraz, someone from Abadan; and both in Tehran have to cope with each other so that they can find coward Mahmoud,” a summery for the flick reads.

Houman Barqnavard, Shabnam Moqaddami, Hossein Yari, Hossein Moheb-Ahari, Mona Farjad, Hedayat Hashemi, Rasoul Sadr-Ameli, and the director Hashemi are on the movie’s cast list.

The Fajr Film Festival is an annual cinematic event held on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, celebrating Iranian cinema.

This year’s festival is slated for January 30-February 11, 2019, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
