Asghar Farhadi's 'Everybody Knows' has succeeded to sell 75 thousand dollars on the first day of screening in the US.
The movie which is distributed by Focus Features, an American film production and distribution company, was screened in four cinemas on February 10. The movie sold for an average of 18743 dollars per screen on the day. On February 13 the movie broke a new record and sold more than 86 thousand dollars.
‘Everybody Knows’ went on US silver screen for its test screening this week. Among all the movies which went on the silver screen in this period, Farhadi’s was the most successful.
Focus Features acquired distribution rights to the film in various countries including US, Canada, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Ireland.
‘Everybody Knows’ has so far been screened in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain and Germany.
Farhadi's eighth feature film was shot entirely in the Spanish Iberian Peninsula. It charts the story of Laura (played by Cruz) who travels with her family from Buenos Aires to her native village in Spain. An unexpected event twists the plot.
