Mohammad Bakhshi, director of the successful short film ‘Are You Volleyball?!’, has been invited to join the jury panel of the third edition of the Independent Political Activism Short Film Festival (i.P.A.S.) in Greece.
Bakhshi’s short film ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ garnered the best viewer choice award of the i.P.A.S. last year and now he is invited to the festival as a member of the jury.
‘Are You Volleyball?!’ reveals the story of a group of Arab speaking asylum seekers who have lost their pacifications during the war and are seeking a better place in the world to live in. They arrive on the border and the story starts.
Bakhshi’s short has so far succeeded to win a number of awards from internationally celebrated film events such as the Global Film Los Angeles Film Festival in the US and the Milan Film Festival in Italy.
A number of Iranian films, including ‘Breathing’ directed by Farshid Ayyoubinejad, ‘Gloomy Green’ by Forouzan Jalali, ‘The Fox’ by Sadeq Javadi and ‘Red Wheat Fields’ by Asad Bahreini will be presented at the third edition of the i.P.A.S. festival.
The i.P.A.S. is dedicated to the work of filmmakers from around the world with defiantly independent political and social visions.
The third edition of the i.P.A.S. festival is slated for April 9-12, 2019, in Athens.
