Tehran symbolic landmark Nature Bridge has been plunged into darkness on the occasion of Earth Hour 2019.
In response to the global call to fight the climate change, the iconic bridge joined public buildings and historical monuments across the globe in shutting off the lights as part of the Earth Hour event.
The lights went off Saturday, March 30, when local clocks hit 8:30 local time.
Many countries such as Italy, France, Greece, Poland, the US joined the call which began in 2007.
The Tabiat (Nature) Bridge is one of the largest pedestrian overpasses in Iranian capital city of Tehran. Built on large pillars, the structure spans a main highway in the capital.
The iconic Milad Tower in Tehran also switched off lights as an important participant from Iran in the global campaign.
