The 9th London Lift-Off Film Festival in the UK has set to screen two documentaries and a short from Iran.
Iranian productions, ‘Sara’ by Hadi Shariati and ‘I Must Fly’ by Ghazaleh Razavi, are in the documentary lineup of the British event.
‘Sarah’ received a special mention certificate for the best documentary at the 2018 edition of the LakeCity International Film Festival in India.
The Iranian doc is about a filmmaker who finds out about her daughter's visual impairment on her birthday.
The filmmaker and his wife make every attempt to document the daughter's life via camera.
‘I Must Fly’ tells the story of an 80-year-old man who decides to marry a much younger woman.
The lineup for the festival also includes an Iranian short film, ‘The Stranger Screeches’, written and directed by Shahin Heidari.
It is an experimental film, which attempts to depict the routine life in a way to awaken the audience to the dangers of this subconscious crisis and encourage them to find a way to get out.
The Lift-Off Global Network holds film festivals in a number of cities around the world, including Sydney, Manchester, Melbourne, Amsterdam, Berlin, Toronto, Tokyo, Paris and New York.
The 9th edition of the London Lift-Off Film Festival is slated for mid-April 2019 in the British capital.
