Upcoming Fajr Int'l Film Festival unveils lineup for Cinema Salvation competition section with a total of 30 titles in the running.
The shorts and features include titles hailing from Iran as well as other countries vying for the top award in the 2019 edition of the event to be held in a few days.
The features on the list are the likes of 'Sweet Agony 2' by Alireza Davoudnejad, 'Dance with Me!' by Soroush Sehat and 'A Russian Youth' by Alexander Zolotukhin.
Among other titles that made it into the lineup include ‘A Shelter among the Clouds’ by Robert Budina, ‘Before the Frost’ by Michael Noer and ‘Erased’ by Miha Mazzini & Dusan Joksimovic.
‘Widow of Silence’ by Praveen Morchhale and ‘Werewolf’ by Adrian Panek are also in the running with the former being an Indian film.
In short film category, a total of 15 works were picked out by the jury, including 'Fish' by Jaan Toomik, 'Good Intentions' by Anna Mantzaris and 'The Narrator' by Julia Trofimova.
The three Iranian short flicks competing for the top prize include ‘Delirium' by Vahid & Navid Hosseini-Nami, ‘Each Other’ by Sarah Tabibzadeh and ‘Pause’ by Pegah Ansari.
Among 30 feature and short films selected for Cinema Salvation, 24 are international and 6 of them are from Iran cinema.
Headed by Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi, the 37th FIFF will be held in the capital, Tehran, on April 18-26, 2019.
A national version of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) kicked off on January 30 and wrapped up on February 11.
Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played vital roles in the development of Iranian Cinema.
