Iran’s short ‘The Snail’ has been set to compete at the 14th edition of the International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva (FIFOG) in Switzerland.
Directed by Mohammad Towrivarian, ‘The Snail’ will participate at the Short Films competition section of the Swiss event.
The film narrates the story of three young boys who are being smuggled into Turkey from Iran by a man who only passes males through the border. The smuggler realizes something strange in the middle of the road and a conflict starts.
‘The Snail’ brings to two the number of Iranian short films participating at the related section.
Earlier reports said that the 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Qasemi will compete in the event.
Iranian feature ‘Dressage’ directed by Pouya Badkoubeh will also participate at the Feature Films competition section of the festival.
The International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva is a prominent cinematographic event in the cultural landscape of French-speaking Switzerland, which promotes cinema, diversity and intercultural dialogue. It presents 100 films of all genres annually.
The 14th edition of the FIFOG will take place in Geneva on April 29-May 5, 2019.
