US filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘Double’

Iran’s short ‘Double’ has been picked to vie at the 2019 CoSM Women’s Visionary Film Symposium in the US.

The short film revolves around two women trekking a long road to a village.

Trying to find her way to a film set, a young actress gets derailed into a journey as bizarre as the film she is about to act in.

Sahra Asadollahi, Banafsheh Araabi, Houman Rahnamoun, Toufan Mehrdadian, Alireza Pourhashem, Behnam Momeni, Shima Khazaei, Dorsa Abolfazli, and Amir Shahverdi are among the cast.

‘Double’ has gone on screen at a number of global film events, including the 40th Moscow International Film Festival in Russia where it has been named among the three best short films.

The short has also received two nominations at the North Europe International Film Festival "Fusion," attending 8th ÍRÁN:CI Film Festival in the Czech Republic and the 8th Annual Irvine Film Festival in the US.

The CoSM Women’s Visionary Film Symposium is a four-day showcase of new and established female artists who are making an impact in filmmaking worldwide.

From groundbreaking industry panels to workshops, premieres of feature-length films to shorts, the event will address what it means to be a woman today through powerful and thought-provoking discussions and works of art.

This edition of the Symposium will focus on works centered around collective wisdom and hope for families, community and the future.
