Iran short wins at Italian filmfest

Directed by Mostafa Akbari-Manjili, the short film ‘Typhoon’ has won the Best Narrative Short award at the Milestone Worldwide Film Festival (MWFF) in Italy.

The short flick narrates the story of a man and his son who are janitors of a garden. The two go fishing illegally. They go through challenges with the garden owner and fish buyers.

‘Typhoon’ has previously participated at the Lift-Off Global Network, the Alexandria Film Festival, and the Changing Face International Film Festival.

The mission of the MWFF is to promote films and to help filmmakers to improve their careers. At the final event, the Jury awards the best films after live screenings.

The latest edition of the Italian event was held in April 2019.
