Iran ‘Butterfly’ to sit on Cologne heart

Iranian short animation ‘Butterfly’ has been set to go on screen at the 2019 Iranian Film Festival Cologne in Germany.

Directed by Maryam Khalilzadeh, ‘Butterfly’ is a 13-minute animation about a legendary man that can transform girls into butterflies through enchanted music.

Turning thousand and one girls into butterflies, he himself will be able to fly. But at the one thousand and first, he falls in love with the very last case.

The animation attended some global events, including the 14th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival in South Korea, the 21st Children's Film Festival in Canada, and the 21st Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece.

Running from 2013, the Iranian Film Festival Cologne has been presenting the diversity of Iranian cinema to a mixed German-Iranian audience and the lively Iranian Diaspora community in Germany.

The 2019 edition of the event is slated for May 30-June 2.
