The 20th edition of the ShorTS International Film Festival in Italy has added two Iranian titles to its competition list.
In addition to ‘Sluggish Life’ from Iran, the Italian event will screen ‘Delay’ by Ali Asgari and ‘The Role’ by Farnoush Samadi.
In ‘Delay’, a man and his two children are late for their flight, and while they wait for the next flight something happens that changes his point of view about being a father.
‘The Role’ tells the story of a woman who accompanies her husband for an audition. What happens there leads her to an important decision.
Written and directed by Mohsen Mehri, ‘Sluggish Life’ is about a man who lives alone in a dark house between millions of eggs; he wants to call someone, but he cannot until the phone rings.
The 20th edition of the ShorTS International Film Festival will be hosting 20 Italian short films, along with 82 short films from 30 countries, most of which received awards from major global film festivals in 2018.
The 2019 edition of the ShorTS International Film Festival is slated for June 28–July 6 in the northeastern Italian port city of Trieste.
