Nigeria to screen Iran titles

The 4th edition of Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria is to play host to a batch of Iranian titles.

‘The Incomplete’ by Erfan Parsapour, ‘Short Wave’ by Mohammad Esmaeili, ‘Repercussion’ by Negin Homayounpour and ‘Serok’ by Zhiwar Farajzadeh are some of Iran contenders at the festival.

Iran has also introduced two of its much-applauded productions to the event named ‘Balance’ by Barzan Rostami and ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ by Mohammad Bakhshi.

'Are You Volleyball?' has so far won awards from various world festivals, including Best Film Prize from the Al-Nahj Film Festival in Iraq, Best Film and Best Screenplay awards at the US Forum on Law, Culture & Society, Best Film at the BCN Sports Film Festival in Spain, Best Editor award at the Bucharest ShortCut Cinefest in Romania, Best short Film Award at the Unknown Film Festival in Russia, Best Short Film Award at the Changing Face Int’l Film Festival in Australia, best short film award at the Yari Iranian Film Festival in Sweden, the Golden Dragon Award for the best short film at the Cardiff Int’l Film Festival in the UK, the Narrative Short award at the annual Virginia Film Festival's Audience Awards in the US, and Best Film Award and People’s Choice Award of the Ascona Film Festival in Switzerland.

Likewise, 'Balance' has been lauded at 2018 edition of the LakeCity Int’l Film Festival in India as well as the Sarajevo Youth Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.   

It has also grabbed nod for best short animation at Redline International Film Festival in Canada.

With a vision “to build a truly International, all - inclusive and remotely accessible Film Festival, the Realtime International Film Festival accepts entries from filmmakers across the world without discrimination.

The 4th edition of RTF is scheduled for June 23-30 in Nigeria’s largest city of Lagos.
