The Varesh International Film Festival is planning to organize Varesh Film Week in all member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
According to the director of the festival, the Varesh Film Festival has begun negotiations with ECO office in the festival headquarters in the northern Iranian town of Babol so that a selection of acclaimed films from the festival go on screen in all ECO member states.
The screening program is planned to run under the name of Varesh Film Week.
The members of the ECO include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The 9th annual Varesh Film Festival hosted a total of 24 international titles for the international competition section of the event while national lineup included 53 Iranian films.
The Varesh International Film Festival aims at strengthening and supporting anthropological films and introducing the common cultural heritage of the Caspian Sea's littoral states. Identifying new talents are also among the main objectives of the festival.
The 9th edition of the festival took place in the Iranian town of Babol on April 29-May 3, 2019.
