Iran’s ‘Trailer’ to vie at Annecy

Iranian animated piece ‘Trailer’ has been set to compete at the 2019 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.

The film will compete in the Commissioned Films category of the Annecy that will take place in the alpine town in southeastern France.

‘Trailer’ is the official teaser for the 11th Tehran International Animation Festival made by a group of 11 animators, each of whom created a few seconds around the festival’s symbol, a fish.

Produced by Iran’s Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children & Youth Adults, the animators are Fatemeh Goudarzi, Hajar Mehrani, Mehdi Shiri, Amir Saharkhiz, Amin Haqshenas, Elika Mehranpour, Maryam Kashkoulinia, Babak Nekouee, Mehdi Alibeygi, Sareh Shafipour and Moeen Samadi.

Am I a Wolf?’ directed by Amir-Houshang Moeen, ‘Starvation’ directed by Zahra Rostampour, and ‘Son of the Sea’ directed by Abbas Jalali-Yekta from Iran will also vie at the 2019 Annecy.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, created in 1960, is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation (ASIFA).

This edition of the festival is slated for June 10-15, 2019.
