Directed by Alireza Motamedi, ‘Reza’ has been selected to attend the 6th edition of the Visions of Iran film festival in Germany.
Motamedi’s film portrays a gentle individualist who escapes family constraints.
‘Reza’ narrates the story of an author named Reza who aims to write a story about the immigration of his ancestors to Isfahan – a historical city in Iran.
Reza and his wife separate, but he finds it difficult to start a new life without her. Therefore, Reza starts thinking about his own personality to find out why his wife can’t tolerate him.
Sahar Dolatshahi, Setareh Pesyani, Reza Davoudnejad, Afsar Asadi, Pantea Marzbanian, Nasim Mirzadeh, Marjan Moshtaqian, and Solmaz Ghani are among the cast of the film.
‘Reza’ has so far attended a number of international film events and has succeeded to gain some awards.
It was presented at the 33rd Belfort Entrevues International Film Festival in France and won Cine+Distribution Support Award.
It also has attended the 2018 edition of the Mumbai Film Festival in India.
Since 2013, the Visions of Iran has been presenting the diversity of Iranian cinema to a mixed German-Iranian audience and citizens of German origin in Cologne.
The 6th Visions of Iran will kick off in the German city of Cologne on May 30 and will run until June 2, 2019.
