Cannes hosts exhibition on 2019 Iran floods

The 72nd Cannes Film Market is hosting a photo exhibition related to 2019 Iran floods.

Launched by the Farabi Cinema Foundation and Iranian Cultural Center in Paris in collaboration with the Iranian Red Crescent, the exhibition has been held under the name ‘Everywhere for Everyone’.

The photo collection is on display at the pavilion of Iran’s Farabi Cinema Foundation at the Cannes Film Market.

The exhibit shows how people along with the Iranian Red Crescent helped the displaced in the flood-stricken regions. It also depicts how U.S. sanctions have prevented foreign financial aid to enter the country.

The collection will later go on display at the Iranian Cultural Center in Paris during a weeklong exhibition, to be opened on May 24.

From mid-March to April 2019, widespread flash flooding affected large parts of Iran, most severely in Golestan, Fars, Khuzestan, Lorestan, and other provinces.

About 1,900 cities and villages and over 42,000,000 inhabitants across country have been damaged by severe floods as well as hundreds of millions of dollars of damage to water and agriculture infrastructure.
