Croatia to screen Iran animations

Two Iranian short animated pieces have been selected for the official competition program of the 10th Vafi & Rafi International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival in Croatia.

‘On the Cover’ by Yegane Moghaddam and ‘The Blue’ by Alireza Masoumi will compete at the RAFI section of the festival along with a good number of other animated films from around the world.  

2018 ‘On the Cover’ is about a nature photographer who enters a forest and to his surprise, all of the animals begin to pop up in front of his camera, only to have their image on the cover of the magazine.

ifilm earlier reports have announced that ‘Sink’ directed by Mahboubeh Kalaei is also among the contestants.   

‘Sink’ revolves around a man and a woman who appear from 2 cups of coffee which are left in a sink.

The festival includes two competitive sections. VAFI section which is dedicated to animated films made by children or young filmmakers; and the RAFI section made for animated films made for children and young audience.

The 10th edition of the event will be held from May 27th to June 2nd, 2019.
