Zlin festival adds 3 Iranian titles

The 59th edition of the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic has added three Iranian titles to the lineup.

‘Here My Village’ by Abbas Aram is added to the feature films lineup.

‘Didi and Boodi - a Little Cheat’ by Mona Abdollahshahi is competing at the animation section of the festival.

The Czech event has also added ‘I Count the Rabbits’ by Reyhaneh Kavosh to the International Competition of Feature Films for Children.

Earlier reports said that two other Iranian features have been Gholamreza Ramezani’s 96-minute ‘The Knockout’ at the Panorama section and the 78-minute ‘Douch’ directed by Amir Mashhadi-Abbas at the International Competition of Feature Films for Children section.

The reports also mentioned short animations ‘Lomo’s Scary Night’ by Sareh Sharifipour, ‘Fisherman and the Spring’ by Hassan Soltani, and ‘Am I a Wolf?’ by Amir-Houshang Moeen.

Founded in 1961, the Zlin Children and Youth Film Festival is the oldest and largest film festival of its kind in the world.  The festival is an active member of the European Children's Film Association.

The latest edition of the event, currently underway, runs till June 1, 2019 in the Czech city of Zlin.
