S Korea BIFAN to screen Iran ‘Delirium’

The 23rd edition of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea has set to screen Iranian short ‘Delirium’.

Directed by Vahid and Navid Nami, the flick will go on screen at the Shorts2 section of the South Korean event.

The short film, premiered at the Eastern Vista section of the 37th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran, narrates the story of a man who finds a cut-off ear during a rainy night.

“For anyone that opposes the dictatorship, the smallest punishment is to have a cropped ear,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Some 288 films from 49 countries, including 170 features and 118 shorts, are taking part at the 23rd BIFAN with a theme on “love, fantasy, and adventure”.

The BIFAN’s official competition section, Bucheon Choice, is divided into feature films and shorts, showcasing films with an outlook of the world that goes beyond common sense and have an original style among other features.

The 23rd edition of the BIFAN is slated for June 27-July 7, 2019.
