‘Mahoor’ by Majid Niamorad has been set to be retouched before requesting for screening permit.
In talk with local media, the producer of the film Asghar Pourhajarian said that ‘Mahoor’ was scheduled to go on screen in fall last year, but the production team decided to give it a final retouch.
“We are hopeful to be able to ask for screening permission next week after the retouching process has reached an end”, Pourhajarian added.
‘Mahoor’ is a 2017 romantic war-themed drama about a Persian musical instrument named Mahoor.
“Let us picture a world where there is no bombing; no home is turning into ruins; a world where no child is scared with a gunshot. Let us wipe away our tears so that, with the symphony of peace in Mahoor, we can tell the world, why war?” a short synopsis of the flick reads.
The film's shooting was done in two phases with half of it being captured in Ukraine and the rest in Tehran.
Among the cast in ‘Mahoor’ are Homayoun Ershadi, Gohar Kheirandish, Laleh Eskandari, Rouzbeh Hesari, Sogol Khaliq, Maral Farjad, and Kaveh Sammak-Bashi. There are also some Ukranian actors in the film.
It is worth mentioning that screenwriting for ‘Mahoor’ took 11 years to wrap up.
