A documentary titled ‘Walking with the Wind’ about popular Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami has been set to premiere late June in Iran.
Directed by Mahdi Shadizadeh and produced by Alireza Shadizadeh, the documentary will go on screen in Art and Experience cinemas on the occasion of late Kiarostami’s birth anniversary .
Iran legendary helmer Abbas Kiarostami is mostly known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer.
Mahdi Shadizadeh aimed to depict the effect of these different arts on Kiarostami’s life and also his influence on Iran’s contemporary art.
Mahdi Shahidzadeh has previously said in an interview that with the cooperation of Ahmad and Bahman (Kiarostami’s sons), he could film the house and paintings of the late director.
Kiarostami served as a juror at numerous film festivals, most notably the Cannes Film Festival in 1993, 2002 and 2005.
He presided over the Caméra d'Or Jury in Cannes Film Festival 2005. The director has been also announced as president of the Cinéfondation and Short Films jury of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
