Iran FICTS extends submission deadline

The 12th edition of the Tehran International FICTS Film Festival in Iran has extended the submission deadline until June 20, 2019.

So far, about 600 titles from 54 countries have been submitted to the secretariat of the festival.

Iran, India, Italy, France, Germany, Russia and the US respectively have the largest number of submitted works at the secretariat.

The FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) is the organizer of the event, which is the final phase of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries, including Iran.

This edition of the FICTS will be held in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) and the Tehran Municipality in Tehran and Qeshm Island on June 23-27.

It will be held in line with the country’s sporting regulations, the National Olympic and Paralympics Committee and the FICTS Federation in a bid to support the production and distribution of sports films.

The entries in the festival cover the themes that aim at promoting the objectives of the Olympics and strengthening the strong spirit of Olympics and athletic mannerism.

Winners of the festival will be honored during a special ceremony on Qeshm Island.

Winners in each category, including feature films, short films, documentaries, animations and TV shows, will be admitted to the Milano FICTS.

The Milano FICTS in Italy will be held as the final phase of the World FICTS Challenge on October 25-30, 2019.

Founded in 1983, it is recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC) for which it promotes values of sport through film and television. Some 116 countries are members of the FICTS.
