The 7th edition of the Shahr International Film Festival in Iran has selected nine titles in the feature film category to compete at the event in July 2019.
The nine selected titles are ‘Patio’ by Maryam Bahrololoumi, ‘Gazed Look’ by Farzad Khoshdast, ‘House Has no Plaque’ by Mehdi Nazerian, 'Here Is My House' by Kheirollah Taqianipour, ‘Andranik’ by Hossein Mahkam, 'Inside the Waves' by Hadi Shariati, ‘Accordion’ by Arman Zarrinkoub, ‘Let’s Talk About the Past’ by Hamid Nematollah and ‘A Little Dream’ by Hossein Ameri.
The festival has received more than 4000 titles from 114 countries, including India, the US, Spain, Brazil, France, Italy, Turkey, Russia, the UK and Germany.
The Shahr festival is Iran's most important cinematic event related to urban management in the promotion of appropriate urban and industrial life patterns.
It aims to identify creative and innovative cinematic works of urban life and create a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences among world cities.
The Shahr Film Festival is organized annually by the Urban Image Institute, the Artistic and Cultural Organization of Tehran Municipality.
Films that use an eloquent artistic vision to promote a blissful human life will be considered for the competition section, according to the festival's website.
The 7th edition of the festival, headed by Hashem Mirzakhani, is slated for July 17-22, 2019, in Tehran.
