Directed by Ronak Jafari, the short ‘Double’ has been selected to vie at the Mirror Mountain Film Festival in Canada.
This is the tenth international presence of ‘Double’.
The 26-minute film is about two women trekking a long road to a village.
Trying to find her way to a film set, a young actress gets derailed into a journey as bizarre as the film she is about to act in.
Sahra Asadollahi, Banafsheh Araabi, Houman Rahnamoun, Toufan Mehrdadian, Alireza Pourhashem, Behnam Momeni, Shima Khazaei, Dorsa Abolfazli, and Amir Shahverdi are among the cast.
‘Double’ has been presented at a number of global film events, including the 2019 CoSM Women’s Visionary Film Symposium in the US, the 17th ONE SHOT Film Festival in Armenia, and the 40th Moscow International Film Festival in Russia where it has been named among the three best short films.
Mirror festival aims to bring the best films from independent and alternative cinema to Canada’s capital. The fest is a comprehensive event that welcomes all types of films and people to share in the collective cinema experience.
The festival is slated for July 26-27, 2019 in Canada’s capital Ottawa.
