‘I am Zal’ to vie in Spain

Iranian short ‘I am Zal’ (I am albino) has been selected to go on screen at the 14th edition of the Marbella International Film Festival in Spain.

Directed by Houman Naderi, the short narrates the story of a boy named Daniel with albinism disorder.

The boy is to play the role of an Iranian mythological figure, Zal, on stage in a school play.

Preventing Daniel from playing on stage, his mother punishes him.

But when Daniel’s teachers become aware of his punishment, they decide to stand against his mother.

‘I am Zal’ was named the Best Film at the 14th edition of the Indonesian Film Festival in Australia.

The fourteenth edition of the Marbella is slated for October 2-6, 2019.
