Iran’s ‘Short Wave’ garners more awards

Iran’s short ‘Short Wave’ has received two awards at two different film festivals in Europe.

The film received a Special Mention at the 5th edition of the Alexandria Short Film Festival in Greece.

The event, which was held last month, is reportedly committed to bring the best short films from Greece and abroad to the Greek audiences.

Written and directed by Mohammad Esmaeeli, ‘Short Wave’ is adapted from a story written by Gholam-Hossein Saedi. It tells the story of a man who is struggling with the annoying sound of his environment and attempts to silence them.

‘Short Wave’ also won one of the best film awards at the 6th edition of the Durham Film Festival in the UK last month.

The Durham Film Festival is a North East England student and professional short film festival. It gives three awards: Best Professional Film, Best Student Film and Best Local Film (Durham & Surrounding Area).

In April, the short film won the Best Experimental/Art Film at the 15th Annual West Chester International Short Film Festival in the US.
