Sorayya Qasemi joins ‘Baby Engineer’

Veteran Iranian actress Sorayya Qasemi has joined new series project ‘Baby Engineer’.

Directed by Ali Ghaffari, the third season of the series is to enjoy Qasemi before the camera.

The pre-production of the series has kicked off and the script is being written in 35 episodes.

Born in 1940, Sorayya Qasemi is the daughter of late actress Hamideh Kheirabadi.

In the early 1960s, she made her cinematic debut by taking on one of the leading roles in 'Calmness in the Presence of Others' (1970).

After that, she has acted in movies such as 'Long Live' (1979), 'The Cloudy House' (1986), 'The Courtship' (1989), 'Rival of the Heart' (1996), 'Grey' (2000), 'The Pastry Girl' (2001), 'Filmaholic' (2001), 'The Wedding Arrangements' (2003), 'The Equation' (2003), 'Proud' (2006), 'Melody' (2007), 'Let's Talk About the Past' (2008), and 'Invitation' (2008).

Series such as 'Under Your Protection' (1995) and 'The 10th Night' (2001) became Qasemi's massive hits.

She has also appeared in other series, including 'Bittersweet' (1954), 'The Wolves' (1986-1987), 'The Mirror' (1985-1987), 'The Smile of Life' (1993), 'The Hidden Half of the Moon' (1994), 'All My Children' (1997), 'In My Heart' (1998), 'After The Rain' (1999), 'It Was an Angel' (2005), 'The Spiritualists' (2006), 'Injury' (2010), 'Ancient Land' (2010), 'No Pain, No Gain' (2011), 'The Pahlavi Hat' (2012-2013), 'The Sound of Rain' (2013), 'The Star of Life' (2013), and 'The Mystery of the Shah' (2015).

The veteran actress won a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for 'Maral' (2000).

Despite having a short role in 'The Last Supper' (2001), her performance won her an Iran Cinema Celebration Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
