Latest Kiarostami award heads to museum

Great Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami has received yet another international award to be kept at the Cinema Museum of Iran.

On the third anniversary of the passing of the late Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, the Eurasian International Film Festival posthumously awarded the renowned director with another international award which will be housed at the filmmaker’s awards and memorabilia display case at the Cinema Museum of Iran.

In its 14th edition, the Eurasian International Film Festival held a ceremony honoring the memory of Kiarostami by dedicating a special prize to the late director of the classic ‘Where is the Friend’s Home?’ which was then presented as a gift to the Cinema Museum of Iran.

The Eurasian International Film Festival’s award is the late director’s latest international honor from global assemblies.

The award, along with the Iranian film industry’s first Palme d’Or award from the Cannes Film Festival, as well as Kiarostami’s other accolades and memorabilia are on display for the public at the Cinema Museum of Iran’s International Hall.
